Life drawing

Ina Sarikhani is the founder and curator of the Sarikhani Collection of Iranian Art, a magnificent trove of Iranian art, encompassing manuscripts, textiles, silverware, glass, paintings and ceramics from 3,000BC to the 18th century.

Both Ina and her husband Sir Guy Weston are trustees at the Royal Academy of Arts. We decided to take their portraits at the life drawing room which has recently been restored to its original design by Sir David Chipperfield RA.

Really exciting for me to shoot in that room as my father was studying painting at the RA in the 1950’s, I am sure that was the room where he took his life drawing lessons and where he also met his first wife, Margot, who was a life model.
